We worked on this houseboat one summer. Our scope of
work included all exterior details. We built a curved exterior deck with
marine grade hardware and stainless cable rails. We built the arch top
roof with the curved fascia to match. Houseboats are fun because you get
to throw away the levels! We only lost one cordless drill to Lake Union,
but were pleasantly surprised when a neighboring diver recovered it from
the muck and, lo and behold, it still worked! The owner has lived and
owned several boats and supplied us with neat, old nautical hardware and
porthole windows. This meant constant innovation to install and weatherize
the structure as we dressed up the exterior. Custom copper flashing, clear
cedar, and a fiberglass roof, meant this boat was built to last. |
